Šid

The oldest schools in the Šid Municipality date back from the first half of the 18 th century, which indicates a rich tradition in education. Today, all settlements have primary schools:

• The institution “Jelica Stanivuković-Šilja” Šid, is engaged in thepre-school education, having divisions in each village.

• Primary school “The Sremski Front” Šid, with local divisions in Berkasovo, Sot and Bikić dol.

• Primary school “Branko Radičević” Šid, with local divisions in Gibarac, Bačinci and Kukujevci.

• Primary school “Vuk Karadžić” Adaševci, with the local divisions in Vašica, ilinci and Batrovci.

• Primary school “ Sava Šumanović” Erdevik, with local divisions in Bingula and Ljuba.

• Primary school for children with special needs “Jovan Jovanović-Zmaj” Šid with the local division at the institute for mother and child care Novi Sad – building Principovac.



There are also two secondary schools in Šid: grammar school “ Sava Šumanović” and technical school “Nikola Tesla”(mechanical department, agricultural production and food processing department, and department for constructors in the field of informatics). There also a library “Simeon Piščević” as well as the local libraries in Erdevik and Vašica.
