Šid

Natural resources of the Municipality are the basis for the development of the economy. The teritory of Šid Municipality has economic resources which provide the basic prerequisites for the increase of its economic strength and a more dynamic development. The important resources are: agricultural land (44,000 ha of arable land-humus), forests with various game, water resources and suitable conditions for tourism development.

Agricultural land represents the biggest and the most important resources on which almost entire economy if this region relies. The territory of Šid Municipality is classified as one the richest in Vojvodina according to the areas under forests, which cover about 22,000 ha. Agriculture and forestry are the two professions which the population practices the longest.

Vine growing also represents one of the biggest potentials of this Municipality.

The industry is represented with versatile production. Raw materials of these industrially versatile areas are processed in handcrafts and factory workshops.
