Šid

Sports life in this municipality has rich and long tradition. This refers specially to Šid, being the centre of sports events and activities. Football is one of the sports with the largest tradition and clubs in all settlements of the Municipality. When the sports area was built in 1979, the minor sports also obtained conditions for their development and increased popularity.

This refers primarily to handball, which has 40 year-long tradition, and then there is basketball, volleyball, table tennis, karate and chess. Kayak, cycling, mountaineering, archery and other spots are also present in the sport life of the Municipality.

In many of the above mentioned sports, clubs and individuals have achieved impressive results and won numerous prizes on different levels of sport competitions.
